THE HOTEL

AT IMMERSO, THE LANDSCAPE ENVELOPS YOU UNTIL IT BECOMES A PART OF YOU.
HERE NATURE IS A CONSTANT PRESENCE THAT EMBRACES AND INSPIRES, LIKE THE BREEZE OR THE WAVES ON THE SEA. TO STOP, TO LIVE.

In this wonderful valley, Immerso is a gentle, respectful presence, made up of four structures dotted about a vast area.

The cultural diversity of the municipality where it is located enables Immerso to offer a wide range of experiences to our guests.

Outside, surrounded by a gentle beauty, there is lots of space and fresh air to enjoy. Inside, we seek a balance between comfort and refinemente, always with nature as our inspiration. The architectural design, by Tiago Silva Dias, is adapted to the terrain and its natural morphology, applying principles traditional in southern Iberian, with structures dotted on gentle slopes and landmark buildings higher up.

The views and the relationship with the surrounding landscape – the valley in which it is located and the presence of the ocean close by – determined the form of the array of buildings that make up IMMERSO.

The development, which was designed based on modern criteria, in concordance with the "spirit of the place", stresses the conciliation of natural values and construction, through the contextualisation and integration of the buildings on the site, in line with the principles of environmental sustainability, adjusted to the local climatic conditions.

The appeal to the senses offered by the views over the valley and the ocean is felt inside looking out, through elements that emphasis the relationship with the exterior: the curve, recalling a wave, that defines the ceilings of the rooms, and the restaurant's large veranda, which affords a view of the natural setting.

Inside, the spaces form a sequence of different "moments". They are fluid in their articulation, affording a changing vision between each other and a constant relation with the exterior. Each space has its own different characteristics, making for an experience that is focussed above all on the comfort and pleasure of guests.

The colours and textures, and the forms used, represent a synthesis between the natural setting and the contemporary feel sought, with the use of a relatively restricted range of materials: bare concrete, surfaces painted in colours from a palette based on mineral elements, pine and painted iron.

The interiors were designed by Barbara Neto – from nature, making for a unique space, with textures from the earth and the sea – and curated by Immerso founder Alexandra Almeida D'Eça.
Natural materials were chosen and modelled into organic forms, resulting in tranquil spaces with a calm light – the sunset over the sea and the shadows made by the movement of the waves were a strong inspiration. Colours are limited to the details, on a neutral base in sandy tones, recalling the shades of nature in its pure form, and with touches in terracota.

The cotton thread and rope that is used for the lighting pieces, the plaster sculptures that give form and volume to the walls, the braiding on the carpets, with cork and recycled materials, bring indoors what generally stays outside, so contributing to the project's uniqueness.

At Immerso, the landscape envelops you until it becomes a part of you.

IMMERSED IN THE LANDSCAPE, IN HARMONY WITH THE LAND AND WITH STUNNING VIEWS OF THE SEA.
