There are places where surfing is more than a sport. It is woven into the landscape, the culture and a way of life.
From 6 to 12 October 2026, Ribeira d’Ilhas once again brings together some of the world’s best surfers at one of Portugal’s most iconic waves.
Part of the WSL Challenger Series, the EDP Ericeira Pro brings world-class competition to Ericeira at a crucial point in the race to qualify for the Championship Tour.
But there is much more to experiencing the event than watching the heats.
It is arriving at Ribeira d’Ilhas in the morning and feeling the Atlantic in the air. Watching the swell roll into the bay, seeing the action unfold just metres from shore, and understanding why this place holds such a special place on the world surfing map.
For one week, athletes, locals and visitors come together around a shared connection to the ocean, in the heart of the Ericeira World Surfing Reserve.
One of those moments worth being here for.
